When to Call in an Expert with Ren Cicalese (Episode #101)

Posted on November 7, 2019April 3, 2020 by theartofgivingadamn

Starting as a tax season temp in 1980, today Ren Cicalese is the Managing Shareholder of Alloy Silverstein, a regional CPA firm headquartered in Cherry Hill NJ, and also owns its affiliate companies, including Abacus Payroll. Ren has 40 years of accounting, tax, and advisory experience to his name, having worked predominately with law firms, real estate developers, computer consulting businesses, health care professionals, manufacturing companies, retail and wholesale organizations, professional athletes, family offices, and startups throughout his career. In addition to helping clients with their tax and accounting needs, he supervises the firm’s services in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, bankruptcy, insolvency, medical consulting, business process outsourcing, and other special projects for clients.

“The right CPA for your business won’t just handle the debits, credits, and filing deadlines – they get to know the nitty-gritty of your business and propose outside the box ideas to solve problems and help you get where you want to be. I’ve never stopped working hard to get to where I am today and Alloy Silverstein never stops working hard for the success of our clients.”

Ren has been named a “Top CEO/CFO” and a “South Jersey Executive of the Year” by South Jersey Biz in recent years and in 2013 was named a “50 Over 50” by the NJ Society of CPAs. He has received multiple honors as a distinguished alumni of Rutgers University–Camden. Ren is passionate about giving back to the South Jersey community and has served on numerous Boards for civic and charitable organizations over the years, and he has established an annual Adopt-A-Family program that benefits over 60 local families each holiday season. Ren is currently serving on the AICPA Practice Advisory Group and the Dean’s Executive Advisory Council of Rutgers University. He recently served two consecutive two-year terms as Past President of INPACT Americas, an international alliance of independent accounting firms, and is also a past Chair of INPACT’s Global Board of Directors.
